About Us

Austin Area Women’s Golf Association (AAWGA) is one of the oldest Women’s Golf Associations in Texas.  In 1947, forty charter members gathered from the two women’s golf organizations that had been in operation for several years.  They were members of the Austin Women’s Public Links Golf Association (Lions Municipal Golf Course) and the Country Club Ladies Golf Association (Austin Country Club).  They completed the groundwork for the organization of the Austin Women’s Golf Association (AWGA) and held competitions rotating between courses.  AWGA was renamed to the Austin Area Women’s Golf Association in 2012.
